Becker Digital at AUSA 2024

Becker Digital’s Leadership Team had a wonderful time at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) 2024 Annual Meeting and Expo. As a U.S. Army veteran-owned small business, AUSA is an annual tradition for us, one that is fondly referred to as our “Big Army Family Reunion.” It’s always a pleasure to reconnect with Army friends, senior military leaders, teaming partners, and federal agencies, all working together to support our nation's warfighters.

While the Expo Showroom, featuring the latest advancements in weaponry and defense technology, is always a treat, the seminars, sessions, and events are the true cornerstone of the AUSA experience. This year’s theme, “Transforming for a Complex World,” emphasized the Army's ongoing efforts to modernize and adapt to an increasingly unpredictable global landscape. GEN Randy George captured the urgency of readiness and partnerships: “The world is more volatile today than I have seen it in my 36-year career. A spark in any region can have global impacts. Our Army is as important as ever to the joint force. We must deter war everywhere and be ready to respond anywhere.”

Key Highlights from AUSA 2024

Here are a few highlights from AUSA 2024:

Dwight D. Eisenhower Luncheon with remarks from Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George, who discussed the role innovation and vendors play in ensuring the lethality of our fighting force. Given the complexity of threats and the global scale of violence in the modern world, warfighters must have the resources and support they need to defend our nation, freedoms, and people. It was great to hear about GEN George’s initiatives aimed at advancing readiness and providing cutting-edge solutions to real-world problems on the modern battlefield. Additionally, it was an honor to meet the winners of the Best Squad Competition, the NCO and Soldier of the Year

“Warfighter and Family Forum III: Army Senior Leaders’ Fireside Chat,” sponsored by the Wounded Warrior Project. Panelists included the Honorable Christine Wormuth - Secretary of the Army, GEN Randy A. George - Chief of Staff of the Army, and SMA Michael R. Weimer - Sergeant Major of the Army, with a discussion moderated by SFC Leyton Summerlin - Deputy Director, Harding Project and Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the Army. As a veteran-owned company whose leadership team includes retired service members and military spouses, we found it particularly inspiring to hear about the Army's efforts to improve the quality of life for military families.

“Increasing the Speed of Warfighters Innovation” Seminar, which included remarks from LTG Leslie C. Smith, USA (Ret), Dr. Alexander Miller - CTO Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army, GEN Randy A. George - Chief of Staff of the Army, Tara Murphy Doughtery - CEO of Govini, Shyam Sankar - CTO at Palantir Technologies, Danielle M. Moyer - Executive Director US Army Contracting Command, and Christian Brose - Cheif Strategy Officer at Andruil Instrustries. The panelists provided cross-sector insights from industry and government on the future of defense contracting and the evolving industry partnership needs of the U.S. Army. It was an insightful discussion on…

George C. Marshall Memorial Dinner and Military Gala is among the best of military balls! This year’s recipient of the George Catlett Marshall Medal -  AUSA’s highest award -  was the United States Army Noncommissioned Officer (NCO)- the true backbone of the U.S. Army. SMA Weimer accepted the award, addressed the attendees, and highlighted the impact NCOs have had on the U.S. military since 1775. The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” performed multiple standout sets, including "The Army Goes Rolling Along," the official song of the United States Army.
