Hannah Becker Selected as a Joint Special Operations University Fellow
Becker Digital’s Vice President, Hannah Becker, has been selected to join the Joint Special Operations University’s (JSOU) 2023-2024 cohort of Non-Resident Fellows. JSOU serves as the educational epicenter for the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), dedicated to providing cutting-edge learning opportunities for professionals within the Special Operations Forces (SOF) community. Often referred to as the "Think-Do Tank" - Center for Special Operations Thinking, JSOU's mission is to prepare SOF professionals with the cognitive tools necessary to confront and conquer strategic and operational challenges.
JSOU's work is guided by the Five SOF Truths, which serve as fundamental principles underpinning their endeavors:
Humans are more important than hardware.
Quality is better than Quantity.
Special Operations Forces cannot be mass-produced.
Competent Special Operations Forces cannot be created after emergencies occur.
Most special operations require non-SOF assistance.
Located adjacent to USSOCOM Headquarters at MacDill AFB, JSOU provides cohesive education support to SOF personnel and other non-SOF decision-makers at intermediate and senior levels. JSOU sharpens the edge of SOF's Advantage - developing the next-generation SOF professional. Course and research topics include counterterrorism, cyber, global challenges, informational operations, irregular warfare, weapons of mass destruction, and resilience.
Selected JSOU Fellows like Hannah Becker play a pivotal role in advancing the institution's mission. They contribute through extensive research, publication of scholarly works, and developing and delivering courses and training programs. The fellowship experience immerses participants in a dynamic learning environment, enabling them to actively engage with and contribute to the crucial issues that will shape the future of Special Operations.
